Is the Mara Fully Booked Yet???

Blobs

The Maasai Mara is indeed full - with wildebeests, but beds are still available! I too I thought it was until I received a last minute booking from a client who simply insisted, this is how she put it after we had told her it is a no-go-zone.

As for accomodations, the humbler the better. A tent or a bunk at a decent backpackers would be heaven indeed”

Wildebeests in Maasai Mara

I did not want to put her in a bunk least of all options, so I went back to the drawing board and researched further and I came across Royal Mara Safari Lodge where I was able to get accommodation confirmation. I responded to my desperate client and told her that the last thing she should do is to compromise on her safari quality just because she badly wanted to see what was recently declared as “one of the seven new wonders of the world – the annual wildebeest migration”. I told her to pay a little bit more and have a comfortable place to sleep after the expeditious day waiting for hours out there to see the gnus make the mighty river crossings. She will subsequently be making a debut Maasai Mara visit next week with else but Woni Safaris.

Royal Mara Safari Lodge is The New Premiere Luxury Lodge of Kenya’s Maasai Mara Safari Game Reserve. The lodge is situated along the Mara River in the richest game viewing section of the entire Maasai Mara Ecosystem: the Western Maasai Mara. Game drives are operated along the Mara River sections of western Koyiaki and the western National Reserve. It is here that the largest numbers of wildlife congregate for river watering and Serengeti river crossing migration.

The Masai Mara game park consists of the National Reserve encircled by the contiguous conservation areas of Trans Mara, Koyiaki, Lemek, Olchorro, Olkinyei and Siana, collectively owned by local Maasai tribes. The wildlife freely roam and graze throughout the vast Maasai Mara Ecosystem under the patrol of armed rangers to ensure animal preservation. There are no boundaries, fences, or walls to obstruct the mass movement of animals.

More on Nairobi and some of its Attractions

Chuimoja – Welcome to the Woni Safaris Blog!

I couldn’t help reacting to a few areas on your Blog, let’s start with security. There has always been great amount of misinformation in this regard for a long time and most travelers are actually now fed up with the various travel ban advisories and they instead continue to travel to East Africa in total disregard of the advisories, it is impossible to resist travel to the best wildlife destination known! Latest statistics from the Kenya Tourist Board show that the numbers of visiting tourists is increasing every year. These numbers are led by traffic from the UK followed by those from USA, the later has taken over from those from Germany as at last year.

All you need to do while visiting East Africa in regard to security is very very simple – use your common sense! This is also greatly contributed by the fact that the Driver Guides who are well trained will escort and drive you keeping off the very few trouble shooting areas. In cases where you are on your own all you need to do is to keep to the main areas/streets, shopping malls etc. and you are good to go! This is only when in Nairobi or Mombasa or any of the other key towns as the national parks and wildlife sanctuaries are the safest places to in. Access in these wildlife locations are restricted areas and cost minimum US$ 40 to enter and thus making it affordable to interested parties only.

With no safe place anymore in the world Kenya is considered as one of the safest travel destination there is as the people in this location have in the past years come to acknowledge the visitor as a special person who should be safeguarded by all means from the normal periodical uprisings which arise when there is an active year i.e. election year.

Thanks to the IT world as it is telling the way things are on the ground, thanks to the Blog also – this one will communicate up to date information directly from those who are or have been here.

Thank you for the Invitation!

Msafiri is Swahili word for “traveler”. I am not a traveler but I arrange travels. I also participate a lot with other Blog sites with special emphasize to discussing Africa and specifically East Africa. It was thus very timely and coincidental to receive an invitation to participate on your Blog.

I strongly believe that to be able to travel successfully to Africa, proper information is of the essence particularly in one of the best natural and wonderful holiday destination there is. Unfortunately there still is a big misconception of what one would expect or find of Africa, many visitors have felt lack of correct information and negative oriented advisories have denied many a traveler a chance to visit Africa and in this deny them a chance to see some of the true wonders of the world.

Africa is un-doubtly a must visit for any traveler from outside this continent, the wildlife, clean sandy beaches, breathtaking scenery, natural landscapes, make East Africa a must visit for those also in Africa outside this region. I will be writing more on experiences which I really hope will help those making up their decisions on selecting their next travel destination.

Thank you for this invitation and congratulations, your website is very informative albeit brief but to the points.
