Mara Serena Safari Lodge

Secreted deep within the Maasai Mara National Reserve, the Mara Serena Safari Lodge is the ultimate safari destination. The lodge is a modern interpretation of a traditional village with a unique style all of its own and a semi-circular arrangement of guestrooms in the style of a Maasai Manyatta. Interiors feature traditional Maasai bright colors and Maasai murals and calabash lampshades adorn the main lodge. Set upon the saddle of a hill, the Lodge overlooks the Mara Triangle of rolling plains, patches of forest and the Mara River - over which thousands of wildebeest cross during the migration. No other lodge in the Maasai Mara has such spectacular 360° views of the surrounding landscape.

You can sit at the gorgeous swimming pool and look down towards the Mara River where thousands of wildebeest gather in July to August, in readiness to cross on their annual migration. They may wait there for days before deciding to take the plunge. Mara Serena Lodge is so well placed that game drives along the river, across the plains or down to the Hippo are very rewarding.

Set high on a bush-cloaked hill, embraced by arcing vistas and washed by a sea of richly rolling grasslands, it stands center -stage to one of Africa’s most dramatic wildlife arenas and has a ringside seat for the greatest wildlife show on Earth, the legendary migration of the wildebeest.

Mara Serena Lodge is a base for Hot Air Balloons and each morning you can see the huge candy-striped orange, yellow and blue balloons floating serenely over the lodge on the 1-hour flight followed by a champagne breakfast. To ensure a place in the balloon, your flight can be reserved in advance.
