Situated in the Mount Kenya Forest, Serena Mountain Lodge the only ‘tree hotel’ ever to be built on the slopes of Kenya’s legendary Mount Kenya, offers you great game viewing from the privacy of your room, as game flock to the nearby waterhole. Serena Mountain Lodge is surrounded by a dense rain forest that comes alive with the sounds of the wild, while the rocky peaks of Mount Kenya overlooks it’s abundance of game. Elephant, buffalo, rhino and waterbuck are regular sights at the lodge. A total of 42 attractive bedrooms furnished with African art, each with private bathroom, gives you comfort in Mountain Lodge style. A viewing bunker that is connected to the lodge by a short tunnel allows you to get up close to the animals that feed at the watering hole. Guests can also venture down to the secret viewing hide by the water’s edge and experience the awesome thrill of being only meters away from some of the most massive beasts on earth. Mountain Lodge is ideally situated as a base for guests who want to climb Mount Kenya. For the daring and sporty, hikes to the top of Mount Kenya, accompanied by an experienced mountain guide and porters, can be arranged. Arrangements for forest walks can be made and are a unique experience with on foot sightings of game and bird life. Guests can also awake to the trumpeting of elephant, fall asleep to the symphony of the African night or sit in stillness and observe the fascinating interplay of the animals as they arrive to drink, bathe, spar and forage around the water hole.
